Team Building at the Mid-Ohio Foodbank

Last Friday 14 members of our Columbus staff had the opportunity to volunteer their time at the Mid-Ohio Foodbank. With the help of 680 member agencies across central and eastern Ohio, the Mid-Ohio Food Collective serves 20 counties and provides more than 170,000 meals each day.

After arriving, everyone rolled up their sleeves to help pack boxes of dairy, protein, produce, bread, and shelf-stable food for members of our community. An assembly line was formed around the room and a shopping cart was pushed through it. As the carts passed by, team members packed their assigned food items into them until they were full of nutritious foods.

While some staff members prepared food boxes, others helped gather shopping carts and broke down boxes and crates for the Foodbank to reuse. During their volunteer slot, our team managed to help pack and distribute around 150 food boxes. Aventiv also made a cash donation and provided reusable shopping totes to customers visiting the Mid-Ohio Foodbank. A lot of time and effort goes into preparing and distributing food to local families, and we couldn’t be more proud of our staff for their willingness to lend a helping hand!
