Pediatric Obesity Clinical Research

Childhood Obesity Clinical Research

There has been a dramatic increase in the prevalence of obesity among children and adolescents in recent years. Childhood and adolescent obesity, and obesity in general, is more than a superficial concern. It is a major health problem that affects the entire body and can lead to several medical complications including diabetes, high blood pressure and high cholesterol.

Aventiv Research is committed to fighting the nationwide epidemic through research and medical advances. Your child may qualify for our pediatric obesity study if they:

  • Are between the ages of 12 to 17 years
  • Currently have a BMI greater or equal to the 95th percentile* OR greater or equal to the 85th percentile* with at least 1 weight related comorbidity such as hypertension, dyslipidaemia, obstructive sleep apnea, or type 2 diabetes
  • Have a history of at least one self-reported unsuccessful dietary effort to lose weight

Participants must have the informed consent of parent(s) or legal guardian.
