Aventiv Research conducts many different clinical trials and studies in the Central Ohio area, and is currently seeking healthy adults between the ages of 18 and 45 for a new investigational Hepatitis B Vaccine trial.
According to the CDC, about 1.2 million people in the United States have contracted Hepatitis B, and more than 350 million worldwide – and most of them are unaware that they are infected. Every year about 3,000 people in the United States (and over 600,000 worldwide) die from Hepatitis B-related liver disease.
Qualifications for the Hepatitis B vaccine include:
Hepatitis B is an infectious disease of the liver that can cause permanent organ scarring, cancer, and can be fatal if left untreated. Many of those who contract the infection show no symptoms during the initial infection, but for those who do, early symptoms can include abdominal pain, a yellow hue to the skin, vomiting, lethargy, and dark urine. Symptoms of Hepatitis B may take as long as 30 years to develop.
About 15-25 percent of chronic Hepatitis B patients will develop serious liver problems, up to and including liver failure. Those with a chronic condition should be monitored regularly by medical professionals, who may administer medication to delay or reverse the effects of liver damage.
Volunteers who are accepted into the new Hepatitis B vaccine trial will be compensated for their time and travel. Your participation in this study could lead to medical discoveries that can help you, or someone whom you care about.
The staff is all extremely friendly and professional. Looking forward to future studies
This is a great way to make extra money and be involved in a research study that will help and benefit many people to come. Thanks. I’ve really enjoyed myself with the program and with the staff.
Have found a significant change to the better from my research study. I experienced less shortage of breath and much better sleep. My daily activities are less hampered because of my better breathing. Thank you all.
Excellent staff. Dr. Arora took the time to not only explain everything but made every step of the research process a very pleasant, hopeful and informative journey.
