Phoenix Kidney Walk 2022
Did you know 37 million American adults currently live with chronic kidney disease, and 1 in 3 are at risk?
Each year, the Phoenix Kidney Walk is held to raise funds that help provide life-saving programs and services to those suffering from chronic kidney disease. This year, the Kidney Walk was held on Sunday, May 15th in Scottsdale, AZ, and Aventiv Research stepped up as an official sponsor of the event. In an effort to raise awareness and funds for kidney research, Aventiv and Desert Kidney Associates teamed up to walk in the fundraiser. Together through fundraising, they were able to raise $415 of their $1,000 goal.
In addition to walking in the fundraiser, Aventiv and DKA team members spent the day building company morale and camaraderie at their booth in the Vendor Village. The theme for this year’s Kidney Walk was Luau Beach Party, and their booth was decorated with tiki banners, pineapples, and palm trees. From face painting and Aventiv branded beach balls to a raffle for a trip to the Phoenix Zoo and dinner at the Cheesecake Factory, much fun was had by community members of all ages!
Many great conversations were had throughout the day. Phoenix Site Manager, Chelsea Hughes, and her staff spent time connecting with and educating community members on the benefits of clinical research. In addition, they were able to build relationships with other medical professionals, including those at Mayo Transplant, Banner Transplant, and DaVita.
The 2022 Phoenix Kidney Walk was a great experience, and we look forward to returning in 2023!
