What is Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD)?

NAFLD is characterized by an increased accumulation of fat in the liver. It is known as a ‘silent’ condition which means most people have no symptoms. Over time it often progresses into Non-Alcoholic Steatohepatitis (NASH), the most serious form of the disease. Once the condition reaches this stage, it can lead to scarring, fibrosis, liver cancer, cirrhosis, or liver failure.

ADVANCED IMAGING called FibroScan is available for any person with fatty liver disease, diabetes, obesity, or high cholesterol.
