Cytomegalovirus (CMV) Trials in Columbus

Aventiv Research is currently participating in an investigational Cytomegalovirus (CMV) vaccine study at our Columbus, Ohio location. CMV is related to the herpes virus, which gives you cold sores. Once infected with CMV, your body retains the virus for life. Most people don’t know they have CMV because it rarely causes problems in healthy people, but if you’re pregnant or if your immune system is weakened, CMV is cause for concern. Women who develop an active CMV infection during pregnancy can pass the virus to their babies, who might then experience symptoms. There is no cure for CMV. Clinical studies are an important step to understanding the cause of and finding treatment for CMV.
