Supporting Research One Step at a Time

Posted on: May 23rd, 2014 by closerlook

Columbus Clinical Research and Dublin Clinical Research staff members had the privilege to participate in the Komen Race for the Cure, along with 35,000 others Saturday, May.17.

The Columbus branch of Susan G. Komen for the Cure started in 1993 by a group of hardworking volunteers, who shared the same vision of putting an end to breast cancer. That same passion, over the years was shared by thousands of volunteers and devoted board and staff members, which has sustained Komen Columbus branch and enabled it to raise more than $25 million; $13 million of that has been given to support local programs, while $5 million has supported worldwide research.

“Experiencing a sense of community is something I have always thought was special. This was my first year doing Race for the Cure and I was overwhelmed by the amount of support this event raised. Columbus is an amazing city and seeing thousands of people banning together to support this great cause made me so proud to be a part of this community,” said Katie Rosshirt, Executive Assistant for CCR and DCR.CCR cancer walk

At the race, more than 1,700 breast cancer survivors were present celebrating with loved ones and close to 800 corporate, civil and individual teams participated. Overall, the race raised $2 million and we were honored to raise more than $2,500 of that sum. As a company, this was our second year to participate and we look forward to participating in many more.

As a clinical research company we have seen the positive results clinical trials and research can provide to those suffering from a disease. It is only through the continuation of research that we can put a stop to diseases. Sign up today to volunteer for a clinical trial and help our researchers find life-changing treatment for you or others you care about.
